Summary/Objective As a meat packaging machine operator, you will work in a fast-paced production area, which consists of product passing from meat cages & bins to various packaging machinery.
Duties include:
checking and controlling the machinery that packages product to ensure that production has a constant supply of materials, adjusting the speed of the machinery, Machinery setup & tear down & troubleshooting, checking instruments at regular intervals, and maintain machine cleanliness.
When problems occur with the production process, you will stop the machine and report the problem to a supervisor.
Essential Functions Responsible for supervising all operational & safety related functions pertaining to company equipment & machinery such as VC999, Shrink Tunnel, Peeler, Rollstock, Treif Slicers, Spiral Slicers, Band Saw, Cubing Machine, Box Tapers, Metal Detectors, Pallet Jacks, High Lifts, & other production related machinery.
Must be capable of lifting 30-40 lbs.
on a frequent basis, in addition to pushing/pulling fully loaded meat cages & product bins.
Document all production related activities pertaining to the Product Traceability Computer System.
Ability to be properly trained & authorized to use machinery cleaning chemicals, including mandatory PPE.
Maintain work environment that is neat, clean, and hazard free.
Must have consistent and reliable attendance.
Must be able to follow instructions and procedures.
Comply with all health/safety, food safety, and basic hygiene rules.
